Multinational Day

On Friday 27th of March, everyone in Glade was invited to come to school in their traditional dress. Mrs Mahmood thought that RC and RM would put on a show for the rest of the school during'Good Works Assembly'. The children all came beautifully dressed and enjoyed looking at each other's clothes. Thank you parents for all your hard work.

Superheroes and Multi-cultural month

On Friday we all dressed in our own clothes as part of the PAWS non-uniform day to raise money / collect eggs for the Easter Fayre which is on Tuesday after school. (We hope to see you all there!)

March was also multi-cultural month. In Reception we were lucky enough to have some of the mum's
who speak other languages to come into our class and read a story or poem or help us learn a song in a different language. We also heard about all the different languages that people in our class speak.

We are all looking forward to Easter and have been listening to the Easter story, to learn about why Christian people celebrate Easter. We are about to start our Easter crafts and also a very special Easter surprise which involves the PARENTS!...more details will be announced shortly - Watch this space!!

Growing Beans.

A few weeks ago we read the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and in our science lesson we planted some seeds. We set up two experiments one putting beans in a pot and one putting bean seeds in a plastic bottle so that we could see what happens in the soil.

We needed some bean seeds, water, soil, a pot and some small stones for drainage. After we had planted the bean seeds we placed them on the window sill so that they were near the sunlight and then we waited. We remembered to water them at regular intervals. This week we measured our beans, one beanstalk has grown up to 63cm. We are very excited and can't wait to see if the beanstalks will grow as large as Jack's!!

Red Nose day in RC!

On Friday it was Red Nose Day and everyone in RC dressed up. All week we had been learning about why we were raising money for Red Nose Day and learning the Red Nose song with the actions. During 'Good Works' assembly we sang the song with Nursery to everyone. We all had a great time but by 3pm we were exhausted!!

Red Nose Day!

We had a very busy week this week! On Monday in Numeracy we started to look at Problem solving. We thought about what we needed to do in order to answer the question. We thought about the steps we need to go through when we are solving a problem. In Literacy, we listened to the story of the Ugly Duckling and then saw the fairytale being acted out by the Rainbow theatre which we all really enjoyed. On Friday we watched some funny plays put on by people from Caterham. They all made us laugh. The High School Musical one was our favourite.

Next week we are going to start thinking about Mothers Day, have a look at the story - The Three Little Pigs and in Numeracy look at Estimation and Capacity.

Last week we went for a walk around the school grounds to look for signs of Spring.

Take a look at some of the signs that we found!
